MEN'S BASKETBALL: Tiger Recruit Battles Hodgkin's Disease

TOWSON, Md. ? Will Adams, Imhotep Charter's star shooting guard who signed a National Letter of Intent last November to attend Towson and play basketball, is hospitalized with Hodgkin's disease.

His future at Towson is on hold while he battles Hodgkin's lymphoma, a form of cancer of the lymphatic system.

Towson University and our basketball staff will remain 100 per cent behind Will and our commitment to his future,” said Tiger head coach Pat Kennedy. “He is an outstanding young man in all aspects and we expect for him to have a great career as a Tiger.”

Imhotep's all-time leading scorer and the program's first 1,000-point career scorer, the 18-year-old Adams helped the Panthers to a Class AA state championship plus Philadelphia city and district titles with a 13.1 average. Imhotep finished its most successful season ever with an impressive 32-1 record that included an astounding 31-game winning streak. The Panthers were a combined 59-5 the last two years.

Adams was a first-team All-Public League selection in the C Division.
