TOWSON, Md. - Thomas DeNapoli '14 and the Charlotte Hounds snapped Denver's 25-game regular-season winning streak with an 18-15 win over the Outlaws at Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
The Hounds (2-5) avenged a 13-11 loss to the Outlaws (5-1) just seven days ago when Charlotte faced Denver in Mile High Stadium on May 30.
The Outlaws came into Saturday's game leading Major League Lacrosse (MLL) in almost every offensive category. The Hounds' defense was able to hold Denver to just one goal in the first quarter - the first time that has happened in 2014 - and continued to find success limiting the Outlaws' offense throughout the game. Denver also was hampered by uncharacteristic turnovers.
DeNapoli took one shot and had one ground ball in the win.
