TOWSON, Md. - One of Towson University's newest Hall of Famers, Gordy Combs '72 will serve as the Tigers' honorary team captain when the Tigers host Colgate University in their Homecoming Game on Saturday evening, Sept. 24 at Minnegan Field at Johnny Unitas Stadium.

A vital member of the Tiger football program from 1970 to 2008, Combs contributed to the football program as a player, assistant coach and head coach. As a senior in 1972, he was one of the Tiger co-captains.

The third head coach in the history of the Tiger football program, Combs compiled a 92-90 career record and led Towson to nine winning seasons in 17 years.

Combs will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on Friday evening, along with Mike Arbutina, Barry Stitz and Liane Williams.
