TOWSON, Md.- Towson’s Zack Stone and Alex Cohen have received the Colonial Athletic Association’s Swimmer of the Week and Diver of the Week, respectively, it has been announced by CAA officials.

Stone, a junior from Ellicott City, Md., was part of a superb team effort Sept. 30 at the Potomac Relay Invitational. He was part of a relay team that finished second in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 7:05.76. Stone also finished in first place with teammate Wes Foltz in the 1000-yard freestyle relay with a time of 9:33.37.

“I was very proud of how Zack swam last week,” Towson Coach Pat Mead said. “His commitment to train over the summer has put him in a great position for this fall.  Overall, I was very pleased with how our men performed.”

Cohen, a sophomore from Roslyn, Pa., was the runner-up in both the one meter and three meter dives at the Potomac Relays. Cohen tallied a score of 208.25 in the one meter event and 193.45 in the three meter event.

“Alex had a great first meet,” Diving Coach Maureen Mead said. “He has struggled with having to modify practices because of a knee injury, but was able to put in two solid lists of dives.”

Stone and Cohen helped the Tigers to a first place overall team finish at the Potomac Relay Invitational. The team will return to action Saturday, Oct. 8 when they travel to CAA rival William & Mary. The meet will begin at 1:00 p.m.
