TOWSON, Md. - As the Tigers prepare to face Johns Hopkins on Wednesday evening at historic Homewood Field, they will be hoping to see senior attacker Sarah Appelt extend her lengthy point-scoring streak.
A native of Garden City, N.Y., Appelt has tallied a point in 16 consecutive games, a streak that goes back to last season. She recorded a point in each of the Tigers' final 13 games in 2011 before posting seven points in their first three games this season.
During the 16-game point streak, the Tiger co-captain has recorded three or more points eight times, including three games with four points. She has scored 21 goals with 19 assists during the streak.
Appelt is not the only Tiger with a long point-scoring streak. Junior midfielder Ashley Waldron has an eight-game streak that dates back to the final five games of last season.
Off to a 3-0 start, the Tigers will face the Blue Jays on Wednesday evening at 5 p.m. in a game that will be televised live on ESPNU.
