TOWSON, Md. – When the Tiger football team hosts Tiger Bowl II on Saturday, April 21, at 1 p.m. in Johnny Unitas® Stadium, there will be a prime seating event for current 2012 season ticketholders.
Held in the back of the East end zone in a tented area opposite the videoboard, the special area will feature complimentary sandwiches provided by Chick-fil-A and 2012 football posters.
Sponsored by the Official Medical Provider of Towson Athletics, Union Memorial Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Tiger Bowl II marks the first opportunity to see the defending Colonial Athletic Association champions return to the gridiron following their memorable 2011 season.
A registration table will be located by the entrance of this premium location for all current season ticketholders to gain entrance into this private area.
New season tickets can be purchased at the box office of Johnny Unitas® Stadium. Any new season ticket holders will be allowed into this tented area.
As the season ticket renewal deadline approaches on April 21, fans are encouraged to contact the Towson Athletics Ticket Office at 1-855-TU-TIGER to renew their tickets. Season tickets have already surpassed last year’s school-record breaking pace.
Last year, Towson University football set numerous attendance records as nearly 9,000 fans attended each home game. The Tigers’ NCAA FCS playoff game attracted a sell-out crowd to Unitas Stadium.
Tiger Bowl II will conclude the Tigers’ Spring season.
Coach Rob Ambrose and his staff have 42 letter winners and a very talented group of newcomers who will be hoping to impress the coaching staff during the Tiger Bowl. The Tigers return nine starters on offense and nine starters on defense from last year’s team.
The 2011 Tigers were known as the “Turnaround Tigers” as they were the most improved team NCAA FCS. One year after posting a 1-10 record, the 2011 Tigers went 9-3 and won their first Colonial Athletic Association championship. The Tigers, who were ranked ninth at the end of the season, reached the second round of the NCAA FCS playoffs.
