SEATTLE, Wash. - After playing 16 games for the Tacoma Rainiers, former Tiger All-American Casper Wells returned to the major leagues on Wednesday night after the Seattle Mariners recalled him from their Triple-A affiliate.
On Wednesday night, Wells started in left field for the Mariners and went two-for-four in a 1-0 loss to San Diego. Wells, who scored 11 runs and had 10 RBI's in his stint at Tacoma, singled twice in his return to the big leagues. He led off the fifth inning with a single and also singled in the seventh inning.
However, the Mariners lost to San Diego, 1-0.
