TOWSON, Md. - There will be 81 of the best women's lacrosse players in the nation at UMBC this weekend, trying out for the US National Women's Lacrosse team.

Among those 81, will be Rhiannon Coogle who is a junior and key member of the Colonial Athletic Association Tiger women's lacrosse team. Also competing for a spot on the team will be recent Towson graduate and Third Team IWLCA All-American Mary Teeters.

Coogle and Teeters both competed and advanced through the first round of tryouts that were held in conjunction with the National Championship in May.

On Sunday, the roster will be cut to 36-40 players and those will compete in the Stars and Stripes Tournament to be held on Oct. 5-7 at Stanford University. Following the Stars and Stripes Tournament, the roster will be cut to a 24 person training roster. From those 24 players, 18 will be selected to compete in next year's FIL World Cup.

Coogle and Teeters will check in with Towsontigers.com next week to provide fans with an update on how the tryouts went.
