BALTIMORE, Md. - For the third year in a row, the Colonial Athletic Association football season will start in Baltimore as CAA Football officially kicks off the 2009 season on Wednesday, July 29 by hosting the 2009 CAA Football Media Day event at the ESPNZone. CAA Commissioner Tom Yeager, all 12 CAA coaches and selected student-athletes will be on hand to preview the 2009 season and give media insight on the upcoming season.
The 2009 Preseason All-Conference Football squad as well as the Preseason Players of the Year and predicted order of finish will be announced during the event which runs from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. CAA Football, along with its television partners Comcast SportsNet and The Comcast Network, also plans to release its 2009 Television Broadcast Schedule. This season’s slate will again feature the largest number of broadcasts for any Football Championship Subdivision Conference in the country.
The Tigers' new Coach, Rob Ambrose, will be making his first appearance at CAA Media Day. Senior tight end John Godlasky and senior linebacker Alex Butt are also scheduled to represent the Tigers at CAA Media Day.
Three radio stations will broadcast shows from the ESPNZone on Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. WRHU (Hofstra) will be on the air live at 10 a.m., while Herb FM Live365.com will air a tape-delayed show Aug. 1 at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
ESPN Radio 950 (Richmond) will also be on hand to tape its show for a 4-7 p.m. broadcast. The Richmond affiliate also plans to produce a 2009 CAA Football Preview Radio Show which will air at various times throughout the 2009 preseason and be available in its entirety at CAASports.com.

CAA Football’s 2009 regular season is set to kick off Sept. 3 when Villanova travels across Philadelphia to face Temple and Maine hosts St. Cloud State. The first CAA Football league contests of 2009 will take place Sept. 12 when Richmond travels to Delaware and Maine visits Northeastern.
