TOWSON, Md. - With the start of the women's basketball season less then two weeks away, senior Haliena Snowden checks in to let fans know what the Tigers have been up to. Fans of Tiger women's basketball can check the women's basketball page on towsontigers.com throughout the season for updates from Snowden and the Tigers in the "Posting Up" blog.

This time, Snowden lets fans in on how the team's retreat in West Virginia went.

My name is Haliena Snowden and I am a senior on the Towson University women's basketball team. We have just begun our season and the first weekend of practice we went on a team retreat to Concord Retreat in West Virginia. We left on Friday night and returned on Sunday afternoon.

This was the first time that our team went on a retreat together and once we got over the fact that we had no phone service and that our house was the last house on the left we settled down and started bonding as a team. Of course in the beginning our coaches went around trying to scare us because we were  in the woods and we soon realized that we were going to travel everywhere in groups. During the weekend we of course practiced and during our free time we became closer as a team. When we were in our house we sang songs and just enjoyed being a family.

The weekend also became competitive on and off the basketball court. We had foosball and ping pong tournaments and we did not take it lightly on our coaches and vice versa. I personal enjoyed the weekend with my family because we grew closer off the court and that leads to a tighter family on the court. This was the first year I got to experience this and I am glad that I got to experience it my senior year with my teammates.
