RICHMOND, Va. - Two Tigers earned postseason honors as the Colonial Athletic Association announced its all-conference and all-rookie teams as part of the field hockey conference tournament on Friday evening. Christina Boarmanearned second team all-conference honors. Jamie Dowlingwas named to the CAA All-Rookie squad.
Boarman earns all-conference honors for the fourth time in her career. She was a first team selection in each of the last two years and an all-rookie pick her first year. The senior forward led the Tigers with 19 points on six goals and seven assists. Boarman had a goal and an assist in the season's second game which allowed her to break the school record for career points. Boarman broke Julie Lambi's mark of 111 career points in that game. She posted her fifth career hat trick against Georgetown. Boarman then broke the school record for career goals with her tally against Delaware. She ends her career holding the school record for career goals (46), assists (36) and points (128).
Dowling earned all-rookie honors after a solid first season for the Tigers. She limited opponents to two goals or less in 11 of her 18 appearances. Dowling posted five or more saves in 10 of her 18 appearances. She made a career-high nine saves against Delaware. Dowling played in the first half of the 3-0 shutout against Appalachian State and was not forced to make a save. She finished the season with a 2.65 goals against average and a .659 save percentage.
The Tigers lose Boarman and three others to graduation next season but return Dowling along with seven of the top scorers.
