UPPER MARLBORO, Md. – Senior guard Krystal Parnell earned All-Colonial Athletic Association Third Team honors at the banquet to kick off the CAA Women’s Basketball Championship on Wednesday evening.
Parnell is the first Tiger to earn All-CAA honors since Shane Baker-Brice did so during the 2009-10 season.
Parnell has started all 29 games this season for the Tigers at point guard. She is averaging 12.0 points per game and has handed out 112 assists. Parnell has scored in double figures in two straight games and 21 of the contests this season. She had a “double-double” with 20 points and 11 rebounds in the win over UMBC earlier this year. Parnell has made a team-high 109 free throws this season and is one of six players with over 100 rebounds.
Parnell has started 57 of the 59 games she has played in during her Tiger career. She has 664 points, 230 rebounds and 246 assists in her career. She ranks among the top 15 in school history for career free throws made and career assists.
Parnell and the Tigers return to action on Thursday, March 8 when they face No. 8 Old Dominion at the Show Place Arena at noon.
