Teeters, who led the CAA in goals against average and save percentage, was named the Most Outstanding Player at the CAA Tournament, a Third Team All-American by the IWLCA and a participant in the IWLCA North/South Senior All-Star Game.
Teeters checked in with TowsonTigers.com to recap how the All-Star game and All-American banquet went.
This past weekend was a fun and exciting bookend to my college career. I was able to represent Towson in the Senior All-Star North-South game with fellow Tiger Sarah Appelt. We played with some of the nation's top players and even made a few new friends. Despite the concentration of talent, the event was extremely relaxed. We started out on Friday with an hour long practice that our coach was forty minutes was late to.
Then we joined the DII and DIII players for a banquet at the hotel the IWLCA put us up in. We were told to enjoy ourselves for the night and sent off on our own. The next morning we reconvened at the field ready to face the North team. After fifty minutes of a running clock, the South edged the North in a close game. Afterwards, I headed to the King of Prussia Mall to check out the shopping. Of course, no trip to Downingtown is complete without a visit to the mall.
Later that night was the IWLCA All-American banquet, conveniently located next to the mall. Luckily, I was joined by junior Alexa Demski (a Third Team All-American along with Teeters) and our coach Sonia LaMoncia. The banquet was a huge event with all the top coaches and players in DI, DII and DIII women's lacrosse. Each player was announced and given a trophy as they crossed the stage.
I think my favorite part of the weekend was not the playing or walking the stage, but being able to spend it with some close friends and being able to make new ones. The lacrosse community is small and tight-knit, and to be honored in front of such a great community was truly a fantastic experience. I already miss playing college lacrosse, but I couldn't ask for a better way to hang up my stick
