    Maryland Amateur Stroke Play Championship Results

TOWSON, Md. - Former Tiger standout Serge Hogg, '98 fired a two-round score of 138 as he won the Maryland State Amateur Stroke Play Championship at Mount Pleasant Golf Club over the weekend.

Hogg, who won the tournament for the third time was one of three former Tiger golfers who placed among the top four finishers.

Chris Baloga, '05 had a two-round score of 140 as he finished third, only two strokes off the pace.

Billy Wingerd, '05, who was the 2005 Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year, finished fourth with a total of 141.

All three of the Tigers' alumni golfers played for Coach Brian Yaniger at Towson.

A future Tiger, incoming freshman Alex Church, placed fifth. The Calvert Hall High School graduate carded a 143, finishing five strokes behind Hogg.

Hogg also won championships in 1995 and 1997.
