TOWSON, Md. – Towson University Deputy Director of Athletics Devin Crosby announced that Ben Ginn has joined the Tiger staff as the head equipment manager.
“Ben’s background at Wake Forest University and the University of Connecticut has prepared him to lead our equipment operation to excellence,” said Crosby. “He is a rising star in the industry of equipment administrators and will make an immediate positive impact on our priorities of Winning, Academics and Relationships.”
Ginn joins the Tigers after serving on the equipment staff at the University of Connecticut, where he worked with the football program. His duties at UConn included maintaining inventory control, which meant repairing and maintaining the helmets and shoulder pads and issuing equipment and apparel. Ginn also supervised the student workers, completed the clothing and footwear orders and gave equipment presentations to potential student athletes.
Ginn earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Wake Forest University in 2008. While at Wake Forest he served as a student equipment manager and was the head student manager for the 2007 football season.
After graduation, Ginn served as the head equipment manager for the Hartford Colonials, a football team in the UFL. There he was responsible for all equipment and gear issued and maintaining that inventory. Ginn worked with the league equipment manager on orders and trained and supervised two assistants.
