TOWSON, Md. - The Tiger volleyball co-captains Aubrey Kirven and Katy Buck are blogging all season long with "Dig This." Kirven and Buck check in with TowsonTigers.com after matches to give fans a look at how the team is feeling. In this edition, they cover the fact that the Tigers have not lost a set in Colonial Athletic Association play.

This weekend we used our matches against William and Mary and UNCW to continue to improve our game as well as improve our record to 4-0 in conference without dropping a set.

Friday night at William and Mary our passing was solid, but our offense started off a little more tentative than it should have. By the third set we were able to improve our attacking and finish the set with more authority. Our biggest goal in this game was to play aggressively and leave an impression on our opponents so that they come in a little bit nervous when we play them again in just a few weeks.

Sunday’s match at UNCW was a stronger performance than Friday’s overall. We were again able to get out in just three sets. Wilmington has several good hitters that we were working hard to contain, and hopefully we can do an even better job against those hitters when we see them again. I felt that our offense was connecting much better than on Friday and our defense was good overall. However there are still many areas with our blocking and defense that we should be able to improve upon before we face the scrappy Mason defense and the powerful JMU offense next week. We know that the target is definitely on our backs this year, and we know that we cannot look past any team- but we are looking forward to the competition as we head into this next weekend.

Go Tigers!!
