RICHMOND, Va. - Following a big 197-95 victory over William & Mary Saturday to begin the season, junior Kaitlin Burke and sophomore Lyndsey Dickson of the Towson women's swimming and diving team were awarded with Colonial Athletic Association Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively.

For Burke, a three-time CAA champion, she began the season in fine form, winning three events against the Tribe. She took first place in the 200-yard freestyle (recording a time of 1:50.45), 500-yard freestyle (4:55.04) and 1,000-yard freestyle (9:59.87).

"She definitely did the work this summer and her performances are reflective of that," Towson head swimming coach Pat Mead said. "Hopefully, we can build on that for the rest of the season."

Dickson qualified for the NCAA Zone Regionals in both the one and three-meter dives, scoring 272.00 points in the one meter and 301.50 points in the three-meter event. She took first place in each on Saturday.

"I’m very proud," Towson diving coach Maureen Mead said. "She went from the youngest diver on the team last year to oldest on the team this year. That’s quite a difference, but she’s thriving in that role."
