TOWSON, Md. - Seeking to remain unbeaten as the season continues, the Towson women's swimming and diving team will travel to Norfolk, Va., for a POD meet against the host Old Dominion Monarchs, George Mason and Northeastern on Friday and Saturday. With victories against the three teams, the Tigers will begin the season 5-0 for the fifth consecutive year.

"Our goal is to win," Towson head coach Pat Mead said. "ODU and Northeastern are much improved. With the recent inclement weather, our practice schedule was affected, so hopefully we can walk away with a win and show our gratitude to those in the University who helped get us back to practicing this week."

The Tigers are led by a trio of juniors in Kendall Towe, Melanie Rowland and Kaitlin Burke.

In the Tigers' victory over Georgetown on Oct. 20, Towe was spectacular. She took first place in a pair of events, the 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard butterfly, and also finished second in the 100-yard butterfly in which she was edged narrowly by teammate Victoria Oslund.

Rowland and Burke will look to continue their performances that have them both placed among the conference's best swimmers.

Burke, a three-time Colonial Athletic Association Champion, was named the Colonial Athletic Association Women's Swimmer of the Week on Sept. 9 after winning the 200-, 500- and 1,000-yard freestyle events against William & Mary in the Tigers' season-opening 197-95 win.

Rowland also won three events against the Tribe, taking home first place in the 100- and 200-yard butterfly and the 200-yard individual medley.
