RICHMOND, Va. – After a record-setting performance in Towson’s POD meet victories over the weekend at Old Dominion, Towson junior swimmer Kaitlin Burke was named the Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Swimmer of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday. She previously won the award on Oct. 9.

“We're very happy for her award,” Towson head coach Pat Mead said. "The great thing about it is that every conference team was swimming this weekend and everyone was swimming so fast and competitive. It's quite an honor for her."

Burke was sensational over the weekend in the Tigers’ victories over Old Dominion, George Mason and Northeastern, claiming victories in three individual events. Burke won the 1,650-yard freestyle in 16:48.32, the 200-yard freestyle in 1:50.73 and the 500-yard freestyle in 4:51.91. All of her times broke the J.C. "Scrap" Chandler Pool event records. The facility is the home of Old Dominion.

Burke also played a role in two relay victories for the Tigers, swimming a leg in the winning 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays for Towson.

The Tigers return to Burdick Pool Saturday for a meet against George Washington at 1 p.m.J
