TOWSON, Md. - Towson swimmer Kaitlin Burke was honored by the Colonial Athletic Association for the third time this season, as the junior was named Co-CAA Women's Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday. She shares the weekly award with William & Mary's Megan Howard.
Burke was strong yet again in the Tigers' 211-82 victory over George Washington Saturday, winning two individual events. She took first place in the 200-yard butterfly recording a time of 2:06.91, winning the event by over four seconds. Burke also took first place in the 50-yard freestyle in 24.08.
She also swam a leg in both the 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay, helping Towson win each event.
It has been a banner year for Burke, as the three-time CAA champion has led the Tigers to a perfect 6-0 record. Tuesday's accolade is her second in two weeks and third this season.
