Good morning Tiger Nation and welcome to the Morning Roar.

Let’s Unleash the Roar

@Towson_MBB returns home after the Comfort Suites Invitational Tournament with a 3-2 overall record. Their final game was yesterday afternoon against Cincinnati Christian and the Tigers had no trouble winning the game 79-40. This means that the Tigers are officially on a winning streak! Man it feels good to say that. Their next game is November 26, on the road against local rival Loyola.

On top of all their games this weekend, @Towson_MBB head coach Pat Skerry announced their 2013 recruiting class.

@Towson_WBB will be looking to keep their winning streak alive when they travel to UMBC to take on the Retrievers, today at 5 pm.

In his blog this week, the “voice of the Tigers” Spiro Morekas talks about the great seniors that will be leaving the @Towson_FB team in the latest installment of From the Broadcast Booth.

A Look Around the CAA

Every Tuesday the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) announces its Players of the Week.

With the year that Terrance West had it is hard to believe this is the first time he has won offensive player of the week honors this season. West dominated the New Hampshire defense for 236 yards on 19 carries and two scores. West finished the season as the second leading rusher in the CAA going over 1,000 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Villanova’s senior defensive back Ronnie Akins won Defensive Player of the Week accolades after he forced a pair of interceptions against Delaware and returned one for a touchdown. This is the second straight week Akins took home the award.

Delaware kick returner Michael Johnson was named the Special Teams Player of the Week. Johnson racked up over 200 return yards including a 94-yard touchdown.

Maine’s freshman running back Nigel Jones took home Rookie of the Week after he rushed for 182 carries on 15 attempts and two scores in the Black Bears' blowout win over Rhode Island.
