RICHMOND, Va. - Towson University women's basketball freshman guard Dominique Johnson was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Week on Monday, it was announced by the league office.

Johnson, who was playing just her third game of the season, led the Tigers to their first ever win over Maine in program history.

"I'm very happy for Dominique," said Towson coach Joe Mathews. "She has made an impact on the team and will continue to improve. Dominique has great work ethic and a desire to succeed."

Johnson led the Tigers in scoring against the Black Bears as she tallied a season-high 20 points. She shot 6-of-12 from the field and 3-for-5 from three-point range. Johnson also added five points from the foul line for the Tigers. She also contributed two steals, one rebound, one assist and a block.
