TOWSON, Md. - The Tiger women's basketball team plays its second straight Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) road game on Thursday, Jan. 10. Towson (6-6, 0-1 CAA) travels to Old Dominion (10-3, 1-0 CAA) for a 7 p.m. game in Norfolk, Va.
Thursday's game will be the 20th and final meeting between the two squads as Old Dominion is leaving the CAA following this season. The Lady Monarchs hold an 18-1 edge in the series and have won four straight. The Tigers' win in the series came during the 2009-10 season in overtime in Norfolk.
The Tigers will be looking to bounce back from a tough 76-55 loss at Drexel on Sunday. In that game, junior guard Tanisha McTiller posted her second straight "double-double" with a career-high 28 points and 10 rebounds.
McTiller is currently ranked second in the CAA, averaging 17.1 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. Senior forward Michelle Peebles is contributing 8.2 points per game with 14 blocks while redshirt junior forward Nyree Williams leads the squad while averaging 7.3 rebounds.
Old Dominion is coming off a 72-66 battle back win at Georgia State on Sunday. Galaisha Goodhope had a career-high 21 points in that game to lead all scorers.
Jackie Cook leads Old Dominion on the season as she is averaging 15.8 points per game while Shae Kelly is adding 11.8 points and a team-best 8.4 rebounds per game.
Following Thursday's game, the Tigers return home to host Georgia State on Sunday, Jan. 13 at noon.
