TOWSON, Md. - Recently sat down with Justin Mabus for a brief, getting-to-know-you chat. Mabus played in all 18 games in 2013, scoring eight goals and posting 16 assists in the midfield.

1. Coach experimented with moving you between attack and midfield. How did that affect how you prepared for games?
JM: My preparation was the same no matter what position I played. With the trust of our coaching staff and my teammates, it was easier for me to fit into the offense.

2. You scored the game winner over Hofstra last year in a double OT thriller and then you scored the game winner this year in a one-goal win. You had 2g, 2a in the game this year. Why do you have such success against the Pride?
JM: When our offensive game plan is working well, it's hard for most defenses to stop us. We spread the ball around and share scoring opportunities. Against Hofstra our offense put me and other guys in the right position to capitalize.

3. Did you see the game a little better/differently as a sophomore this season since you had a year of experience under your belt?
JM: Having a year under my belt was very important. I felt more comfortable on the field than my freshman year.

4. What are your goals for next season?
JM: My goals for next season are:
- Go undefeated in the CAA
- My teammates and I want nothing more then another CAA championship.
- Be more of an offensive threat

5. Any fun summer plans? What’s your favorite thing to do over the summer?
JM: This summer I am interning at Doral Arrowwood Hotel and Conference Center in sales and marketing. My brother just got engaged, so I will be traveling to Colorado for his engagement party. Other than that, I will be looking forward to getting back to Johnny U to see my teammates and start preparing for the 2014 season!
