MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. - The Towson women's golf team shot their best round of the tournament on Tuesday, but finished the 2013 Charleston Southern Wendy's Invitational in 11th-place.

The Tigers improved their score each day of the tournament and their 316 team score on Tuesday was the eighth best in the 13-team field. The College of Charleston bested the field by 13 strokes to win the event.

Sophomore Kati Day led the Tigers during the final round by posting a 76. It marked the best round by any Tiger in the tournament.

Sophomore Emma Hjarne was Towson's top overall finisher, carding a three round total of 235 to finish in 31st. Hjarne shot 79 or below in each of her three rounds. Classmate Krissy Unger posted her best round of the tournament with a 79 on Tuesday.

Laura Fuenfstueck of College of Charleston won individual medalist honors by three strokes over Costal Carolina's Lena Schaeffner.

The Tigers are next in action on Monday, Oct. 14 at the APSU Intercollegiate, which will be held at the Clarksville Country Club in Clarksville, Tenn.
