Harrisonburg, Va. - Senior Emily Banes became Towson's all-time points leader with her equalizing goal in a 2-1 double overtime loss to James Madison Sunday afternoon.

Banes came into the game needing just two points to take over the top spot. Her 76th minute tally propelled her past Christi Landi '97 (70 points). Banes now has 71 career points with three games remaining in the regular season. She needs just one more goal for sole possession of first in career goal totals at Towson. She and Landi are presently tied with 27.

The Dukes (11-4, 3-1 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA)) took a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute when Becky Sparks converted on a corner kick sent in by Kelly Kerrigan. JMU held that lead until Banes scored unassisted at 75:55 to draw the Tigers (7-8-1, 2-4 CAA) level with the Dukes, 1-1.

The teams required two overtimes before JMU claimed the win on a Towson own goal (101:30).

James Madison outshot Towson 18-4 and earned 10 corners to the Tigers' five. Junior goalkeeper Erin Quinn made a season-best 10 saves.

Towson closes out the season with three home matches, the first on October 17 at 3 p.m. against Northeastern.
