10 Things To Know About the Towson-Richmond Game

RICHMOND, Va. - Here are 10 things you need to know before the No. 8 Tigers face Richmond on Saturday afternoon.

1-     With 19 touchdowns, Terrance West leads NCAA FCS in touchdowns scored.

2-     The Tigers' last two wins over Richmond have come on the final play of the game. In 2011, D.J. Soven kicked a 22-yard field goal on the final play for a 31-28 win. In 2007, Sean Schaefer fired a 14-yard TD pass to Demetrius Harrison on the game's final play for a 23-21 Towson win.

3-     Wide receiver Spencer Wilkins has topped the 100-yard mark for receiving yards in three straight games. 

4-     Quarterback Peter Athens has only been sacked four times in eight games this year.

5-     Towson ranks fifth in NCAA FCS on third down conversions with a .514 percentage.

6-     Terrance West has rushed for more than 100 yards in six of eight games this season.

7-     The Tigers have won seven games for the third year in a row.

8-     Averaging 40.5 points per game, the Tigers are ranked eighth in NCAA FCS in scoring offense.

9-     When the Tigers face Richmond, they will be seeking their eighth consecutive road win, a mark that began on Oct. 27, 2012 at Villanova. 

10-   Towson has been ranked in the top ten for eight weeks in a row.
