TOWSON, Md. Towson University added a shooter to its incoming recruiting class with the signing of Imhotep Charter High’s Will Adams, a first team Philadelphia Public League selection who will become the Panthers’ all-time leading scorer early in his senior year.

The 6-4, 190 pound off guard is the third signee for head coach Pat Kennedy. Adams joins Isaiah Philmore of the John Carroll School and Erique Gumbs of Cararvel Academy who signed last week.

“Will is an all around outstanding young man,” said Kennedy. “He had a terrific summer and no doubt will be one of the leading players in all of Philadelphia. He will bring many attributes to our team because of his versatility and athleticism. We’re looking forward to having him with us next year.”

In the offseason Adams plays with the prestigious Positive Image AAU team out of Philadelphia. He was named to the Top 20 all-star game twice last summer at the Hoop Group’s Elite Camp in New Jersey.

Adams is a four-year player on Imhotep’s varsity. The Panthers are 71-19 with him in the lineup, a record that includes a 2-A District Championship and back-to-back trips to the state semifinals the past two years. He averaged 15.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists last year in leading the Panthers to a 27-4 record and a top 10 ranking among Philadelphia city teams. He was named first team All-Public League and honorable mention All-City.

“Will is a shooter,” said Imhotep coach Andre Noble. “Some young players are not always confident in their next shot. Will is. He has NBA range, very good form and can shoot the ball from far. He’s a great finisher in transition too.”

Adams is nearing 1,000 career points. He will become the first Imhotep player in program history to reach that milestone. He will complete his high school career for the Panthers as their all-time leading scorer.
