The Tigers went 10-10 during the 2011 season and earned their first berth in the CAA tournament since 2008.
Freshman goalkeeper Tashani Dickson recently made a Youtube video, following teammates Stevie Winchester and Rebecca Chmielewski. The video titled “How Bad Do You Want It” shows Winchester, working hard to get better while Chmielewski is recovering from ACL surgery.
“A lot of my teammates work hard on their individual game behind the scenes and as Hannah Nielsen (women’s lacrosse assistant who narrated part of video) said," one turns into two, three turns into four and eventually staying late and practicing extra becomes the norm of the team," said Dickson. “When I made that video that is what I was striving for, to make the extra work a team norm.”
Dickson added, “last year our CAA appearance was not a fluke and we beat some very important teams to earn our spot so this year it is no longer a goal to make it to CAA's but an expectation. This video was made to show others that Towson Field Hockey is raising the bar and we are dedicated to making our goals a reality.”
“Stevie and Rebecca, who is recovering from a torn ACL are prime examples of our new athletic department slogan, "aut viam inveniam aut faciam" they will find a way to be better than they expect and work harder than their opponents,” said Dickson.
