Good Morning, Tiger Nation. I am @Simon_HWT aka The Heavyweight and it's time to Wake Up on the Strong Side.
-- The Baltimore Sports Brand
A couple days ago, athletic director Mike Waddell sent out the following tweet that got me thinking...
Mike Waddell @TowsonTigerAD
If the CAA is going to grow the hoops brand then we need to move the tournament out of Richmond & into a better locale #BaltimoreInnerHarbor
Now I know - it's a dangerous thing when I start thinking - but hear me out. I've lived in Baltimore most of my life and I've seen some changes in the greater metro area that might in fact solidify the AD's point of view.
Baltimore has always been in a sort of inferiority complex - being sandwiched between major metropolitans in DC and Philly. But those that have invested in this area - especially in the sports potenial of this town - have usually come out on top.
Sports apparel giant Under Armour - headquartered in Baltimore - can be seen in virtually every sports complex with a 45 minute radius. Major event promoters Corrigan Sports have had their hands in every local event from the Baltimore Marathon in October to the Under Armour Lacrosse All-American Game (hosted at Johnny Unitas Stadium)
With so much sports potential this town has, I decided our athletic director's point is valid and I will be putting together a five piece defense to this point - the case for Baltimore vs. Richmond.

Remember that Gary Neal guy I talked about yesterday? He and the San Antonio Spurs take on the LA Clippers in Game 2 of the NBA Western Conference Semifinals. On my daily scourage of the internet for sports videos I came across this clip from Los Spurs and Clippers last regular season meeting.
