This Thursday is going to be a fun day for Tiger fans. Not only does Tiger Talk, with Spiro Morekas and Damon Lewis, return to the airwaves, but it is also the Coaches Caravan at Charles Village Pub (CVP’s). It’s going to be a really fun event, and I hope to see you all there.
Let’s Unleash the Roar
Today is the day! Towson Athletics kicks off another fall season when @Towson_WSOC takes on DePaul. You can get all your up-to-the-minute scores here. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. EST.
Recently, Women’s Soccer Head Coach, Greg Paynter told me “we don’t know much about DePaul, and DePaul doesn’t know much about us.” Well, I’m sure after the game DePaul will definitely remember the Tigers' name.
If you have been reading my reports and watching the Towson Sports Network (TSN) interviews during @Towson_FB camp this summer, you might have a question you want Head Coach Rob Ambrose to answer. Well, remember, you can ask Coach Ambrose questions via Twitter using #AskCoachAmbrose, and your question may be answered in an interview on TSN.
A Look Outside Towson
It’s weird to think that the NFL could make an impact on the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) this season. Since the NFL’s referees are in a dispute with the league, the NFL has to find replacement officals. They may start calling the CAA officials' names to fill in.
William and Mary is still looking to find a starting signal caller for their season opener against the University of Maryland, and the program hopes to have a better idea of who that will be after the team's scrimmage on Saturday. The Tribe come to Towson for the home-opener on September 15. Be sure to get your tickets soon, as I am sure the U will be rockin'.
Countdown to Kent State
We are officially under two weeks until @Towson_FB kicks off against Kent State. I don’t know about you, but, for me, the anticipation is like waiting to get back a final that determines whether you pass a class. If you don’t remember what that is like, I can tell you it's pretty awful.
Flashes Head Coach Darrell Hazell threw a curveball to his team on Wednesday when he packed everyone up on a bus and took them to Oberlin College to practice. According to the article, the purpose behind the trip was to give the team a change of scenery and get off the hot artificial turf they normally practice on.
After their workout, the players found their way to Oberlin's swimming pools. Let’s just be glad that these teams will find out who’s better by playing football and not a belly flop contest...I don’t care how tough a football player you are, that had to hurt!
Thanks for reading another edition of the Morning Roar. Be sure to check back same time tomorrow and follow me on Twitter @ZachMaskavich.
