TOWSON, Md. - The Tigers begin their final road-trip of the regular season Tuesday against the Delaware State Hornets, beginning at 5 p.m. in Dover.
The Tigers will look to rebound from Sunday's 7-0 loss to Hofstra in which Pride junior pitcher Olivia Galati held the Tigers to only one hit. Galati, who earned three victories against the Tigers over the weekend, struck out nine and walked one while earning her 25th win of the season, which leads the Colonial Athletic Association.
Towson is led offensively by freshman shortstop Hailey Balk, who ranks second in the CAA with a .365 batting average. Balk has 54 hits this season, which leads the Tigers.
Senior outfielder Erika Stasch is tied for first in the conference with 14 doubles, is fifth in runs batted in with 37, and third in the CAA with 88 total bases. In 50 games played for the Tigers this season, Stasch is hitting .322.
In the circle, Towson has posted a team earned run average of 3.01, fourth-best in the league. Junior standout Katie Lingmai is second in the conference with 184 strikeouts, which already is a Towson single-season record.
Delaware State enters Tuesday 22-16-1 this season and is led by a deep lineup that has five players hitting over .300. Jordan Reid leads the way with a .419 average and has 36 runs scored this season. The speedy outfielder also has 13 stolen bases.
The Tigers (25-26, 8-10 CAA) are still in the mix for a Colonial Athletic Association Tournament berth and will complete the regular season with a three-game CAA road series against James Madison Friday and Saturday.
