An integral part of the Tigers’ staff, former Penn State University swimming standout Margy Cramer embarks on her third season as a member of the Tiger men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams.
“We are excited to have Margy as part of our program,” Coach Pat Mead says. “I am confident she will help our teams continue the tradition of excellence we have experienced in recent years.
“Her swimming and coaching experiences will be an asset to our student athletes,” Mead adds. “Her passion for the sport of swimming and enthusiasm for coaching is what shined through in her interview.”
Cramer was an assistant coach for the Ursuline Academy high school swim team for the last two years. She helped the Lions win the Southwest Ohio district title in 2008 while earning a third place finish at the Ohio State Championships.
A 2007 graduate of Penn State, Cramer was a three-year letter winner for the Nittany Lions. She competed at the 2004 United States Olympic Swimming Trials and also won the silver medal in the 5K Open Water Race during the 2005 World Championships.
In addition, Cramer was a two-year member of Penn State’s Student Athlete Advisory Board.
