PHOENIX, Md. - Junior Casey VanDyke shot an impressive five-over 77 to post the seventh best score in the 90-person field at the Tignanelli Towson Invitational. The Tigers end day one tied for ninth in the 18-team field.
St. John's leads the way with one day of play in the books as the Red Storm totaled a 305 (+17) team score on Sunday. Delaware is in second (309) with William & Mary (312), Old Dominion (312) and Hofstra (322) rounding out the Top 5. The Tigers shot a 328 and are tied with Hampton for ninth. The Towson gold team sits in 16th overall with a 343.
Natalie Filler of Delaware and Jennifer Neville of St. John's lead all individuals after carding 74's on Sunday.
Other notable Tigers with solid rounds include Tensley Clowser, Emma Hjarne and Carley Stenger. Clowser (80) and Hjarne (80), both competing in their first events as Tiger freshmen, are tied for 26th overall. Stenger, a junior, is tied for 41st after shooting an 82.
The final round of play will get underway from the Towson Golf & Country Club on Monday at 7:30 a.m.
