RICHMOND, Va. – Junior running back Terrance West and senior linebacker Telvion Clark  of Towson University have been named as the winners of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Offensive Player of the Week and the Defensive Player of the Week awards for their performances in the Tigers’ 48-32 victory over Richmond, it has been announced by CAA officials.

This marks the second time this season that West and Clark have been honored in the same week. They were both honored after Towson’s win over New Hampshire three weeks ago.

Clark shared the CAA Defensive Player of the Week award with Stephon Robertson of James Madison University.

West earned his fourth CAA Offensive Player of the Week award of the year after another record-setting day in the Tigers’ win at Richmond. He ran for a career high 272 yards on 29 carries and scored four rushing touchdowns against the Spiders. In the second half, he capped off a 93-yard, eight-play drive with a one-yard run for a touchdown. With 7:16 remaining in the game, he scored his fifth touchdown of the game on a three-yard run. His five touchdowns in one game tie the school record that he shares with Tony Vinson, ’95.

In his career, West has now been named as the CAA Offensive Player of the Week seven times and was honored as the CAA Rookie of the Week four times. He owns the CAA record for most weekly awards in a career (11).

In the win over Richmond, West also became Towson’s career rushing leader. He has rushed for 3,742 yards in his career with 65 rushing touchdowns. He broke the record set by Jason Corle, ’00.

West has now scored 67 touchdowns in 30 career games. With 65 rushing touchdowns, he tied the CAA record for rushing touchdowns in a career, a mark he shares with Omar Cuff of Delaware.

He is the NCAA FCS leader with 1,402 rushing touchdowns while his 24 touchdowns also lead the nation.

Named as the CAA Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, Clark led the Tigers with a career high 16 tackles in their win at Richmond.
