TOWSON, Md. - Although Towson University was idle this past week, the unbeaten Tigers received more support in voting for The Sports Network/Fathead.com NCAA FCS College Football Weekly Poll.
The Tigers, who opened the season with back-to-back victories over Morgan State and #20 Villanova, made their debut in the poll last week, received 184 votes this week, the 31st-highest total in the country. Last week, the Tigers had 116 points and were 32nd in the nation.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday night when they host Colgate University at 7 p.m.
Six Colonial Athletic Association schools are ranked among the Top 25 this week, including No. 5 Richmond, No. 6 William & Mary, No. 7 Delaware, No. 11 New Hampshire, No. 12 James Madison and No. 17 Massachusetts. The other five CAA schools, Old Dominion, Towson, Maine, Rhode Island and Villanova, are listed among those receiving votes.
