TOWSON, Md. – Senior offensive tackle Henry Glackin of the Tigers has was named as a first team FCS All-America selection by College Sports Madness, a national web site that covers FCS football.

Freshman tailback Terrance West and kick return specialist Derrick Joseph were also honored by College Sports Madness. West was named as the FCS Freshman of the Year while Joseph earned third team All-America notice.

A 6-4, 280-pound lineman, Glackin was a four-year starter at right tackle for the Tigers. A starter in all 12 games as a senior, he was one of the team captains. In his career, he played in 37 games and started 31 times.

Glackin was one of the keys to the “Turnaround Tigers’” success in the 2011 season. As one of the leaders on the offensive line, he led the Tigers’ resurgence as Towson bounced back from a 1-10 record in 2010 to post a 9-3 record and win the Colonial Athletic Association championship this season. The most improved team in NCAA FCS, the Tigers made their first-ever appearance in the NCAA FCS playoffs.

“Henry represents the best there is in Towson football,” says Towson Coach Rob Ambrose. “He has seen the worst of times and he has helped build the foundation for the best of times. He understands the value of teamwork and he is one of the guys who have stuck with it. Our offensive line played well all season and Henry was the leader of that group.”

A second team All-CAA selection, Glackin helped the Tiger offense lead the CAA in rushing. Towson rushed for 2,759 yards in 12 games, a CAA-leading average of 229.9 yards per game. The Tigers also set a school record with 38 rushing touchdowns. The Tiger offense was second in the CAA, averaging 431 yards per game. The Tigers also averaged 34.8 points per game, second in the CAA.

Named as the CAA Offensive Rookie of the Year two weeks ago, West was the second-leading rusher in the CAA. In 11 games, he ran for 1,294 yards on 194 carries. While averaging 117.6 yards per game, he also averaged 6.7 yards per carry and led NCAA FCS with 29 touchdowns. West scored at least two touchdowns in each of his final eight games.

Honored as the CAA Offensive Player of the Week twice, he was also named as the CAA Rookie of the Week four times. West was also named first team All-CAA.

The CAA leader with a 27.9 kickoff return average, Joseph was also a second team All-CAA selection. In the Tigers’ 56-42 win over No. 7 New Hampshire, he returned a kickoff 93 yards for a touchdown to become the first Towson player in 16 years to accomplish the feat. On the season, he returned 35 kickoffs for 978 yards and a touchdown.
