TOWSON, Md. - Members of the Tiger football team will be volunteering to assist in the running of the Fiesta 5K Race on Saturday, May 5 at 8:00 p.m.
Former Baltimore Raven O.J. Brigance, currently a member of the front office, is serving as the chairman of the event which will be held at Power Plant Live.
Proceeds from the race will benefit the Robert Packard Center for ALS Research at The Johns Hopkins University. It will also benefit the Brigance Brigade.
A member of the Ravens' Super Bowl 35 championship team, O.J. Brigance was also a member of the Baltimore Stallions team that won the Grey Cup in 1995.
After he was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or Lou Gehrig’s disease), O.J. Brigance and his wife, Chanda, founded the Brigance Brigade to raise funds to improve the quality of life of ALS patients and their families by providing access to vital treatment, medications, equipment and support services.
As a partner with the Robert Packard Center for ALS Research at Johns Hopkins, the Brigance Brigade also supports the critical funding of research for a cure.
