RICHMOND, Va. – Junior forward Cheyenne Skidmore of the Tiger women's soccer team has been named as a co-recipient of the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week award for the week ending Sept. 11, it has been announced by CAA officials.

Skidmore, who earned the first CAA award of her career, shared the honor with University of Delaware senior forward Amy Pickard. In addition, Skidmore became the first Tiger to be named as the CAA Player of the Week since Sept. 18, 2006 when Erica Marshall earned the award.

The CAA’s leading scorer with 12 points, Skidmore led the Tigers to wins over UMBC and Mount St. Mary’s last week. After scoring a goal in the Tigers’ 3-1 win over the Retrievers on Friday night, Skidmore recorded the first two-goal game of her college career and added an assist as the Tigers defeated The Mount on Sunday, 5-0.

Skidmore is the first Tiger player to record at least five points in a game since Marshall scored two goals with two assists in a win over Bucknell in 2009.

The Tigers, who have won back-to-back games for the first time this season, will begin a five-game road trip on Friday night when they face Campbell University at 7 p.m.
