TOWSON, Md. - After playing in her final college game on Saturday evening, senior defender Kaysi Ward took a few minutes to speak with TowsonTigers.com.
A four-year letter winner for Coach Greg Paynter, Ward appeared in 76 career games and made 47 starts. She scored a career-high two goals against Loyola in 2010 and started all 19 games this past year.
TowsonTigers.com: What makes playing soccer special to you?
Kaysi Ward: I grew up playing soccer with my dad and brother and it's something we bond over still to this day. Furthermore, my teammates have become some of my closest friends, so whether we're playing on the field or hanging out off the field, it's always a good time.
TT.com: Which teammate do you admire the most and why?
KW: Cheyenne Skidmore. She's fast.
TT.com: What is your most memorable soccer experience and what made it so special?
KW: Playing pick up indoor soccer games with my family and friends in a local gym growing up are definitely some memorable experiences. I learned a lot and had a ton of laughs in the process.
TT.com: What do you like about Towson University?
KW: I like its location, my friends, my team, and of course, my roommate Melissa Gomes!
TT.com: If you weren't playing soccer, what sport would you be playing and why?
KW: I would probably be surfing and playing beach volleyball. I like to travel and love the beach and ocean.
