Tailgating Rules
Towson University encourages safe and responsible socializing for those students, alumni and fans who attend Towson athletic events. All state and local laws and University policies are in effect during tailgating. Consistent with these, it is prohibited for a person under the age of 21 years to purchase, possess, consume, transport, or store alcoholic beverages.
Beer and wine are permitted within reasonable consumption limits (i.e., one six pack of beer per person and no more than 24 ounces of wine). Grills are also permitted.
Hard liquor and spirits are prohibited during tailgating, including, but not limited to Jell-O-shots and shooters. Beer kegs, party balls, multi-quart containers of beer, and all drinking paraphernalia and drinking games of any sort are prohibited from tailgating because of the encouragement of rapid consumption of alcohol. Glass beverage containers are also prohibited.
Tailgating is permitted up to three (3) hours before game time and ends when the game begins. Athletics may designate special groups or activities to be permitted to begin tailgating prior to the general population. Tailgating is prohibited at the start of the game, during the game and at halftime. Tailgating is permitted for up to 90 minutes after the game has ended.
Fans who do not exercise their privileges in a responsible manner will face forfeiture of their parking privileges for the remainder of the season and possible cancellation of season ticket privileges for future seasons.
Stadium parking lots open three hours prior to kick-off and lots close 90 minutes after the conclusion of the game. For parking information, click here.
