Trio of Tigers Honored by College Sports Madness

TOWSON, Md. - CollegeSportsMadness.com has named its 2012 All-Colonial Athletic Association teams and three Tigers have made the website's list. Junior pitcher Katie Lingmai and freshman shortstop Hailey Balk were named to the first team while senior outfielder Erika Stasch was a second team selection. 

Lingmai was outstanding in the circle for the Tigers in 2012, compiling a Towson single-season record 203 strikeouts in 192.2 innings pitched. She finished with a team-best 13 wins and threw 23 complete games in 28 starts. Her strikeout total was the second-highest in the CAA

Stasch, a top-flight defender who did not commit an error this season, led the Tigers in home runs (seven) and runs batted in (37) and hit .318 this season. She was third in the conference with 91 total bases and her 37 RBI's ranked fifth in the CAA.

Balk, who was also named CAA Rookie of the Year by the website, finished the year batting .350, which led Towson. She had 17 multi-hit games and her 57 total hits ranked her third in the CAA. During the season, Balk had an 18-game hit streak, which was the second longest in school history.
