Koehler and Gunerman both fired one over 73's to improve on their day one totals. Gunerman improved 10 strokes while Koehler was four shots better.
"I was really happy with the comeback Joe Gunerman had from a tough round yesterday," said Tiger head coach Brian Yaniger. "I was also pleased with Justin Koehler's play. To see him at one over after a solid day one was great. We're just going to continue to work to improve and hopefully we can get four good rounds at one time on Sunday."
Sophomore Matt Fry, who posted the sixth best score in the 120-player field on Friday, carded a five over 77 on day two. Fry sits tied for 23rd overall with a two-day score of 148.
Seton Hall paces the 22-team field with one day of play remaining. The Pirates boast a two-day total of 578. Joining Seton Hall in the final pairing on Sunday will be Navy (582), day one leader Northern Colorado (582) and Penn State (587).
Anthony DeGol of Penn State sits alone atop the leaderboard entering the final day of play at five under par. DeGol followed his four under 68 on Friday with a one under 71 today.
