Towson will battle Texas Tech on Friday evening before taking on Montana and Furman on Saturday.
The Tigers (6-2) went 2-2 last week, defeating Loyola and Harvard but falling to Virginia Tech and Middle Tennessee. Junior Katy Buck led the Tigers with 44 kills, including the 800th of her career while senior Aubrey Kirven had 105 assists.
Buck leads the Tigers on the season with 84 kills and 48 digs while Kirven has contributed 275 assists and 12 service aces. Senior Alysha McCreary leads the CAA as she entered play this week with a hitting percentage of .431. McCreary has also contributed a team-best 22 blocks in the first eight contests.
Texas Tech brings an 8-0 record into Friday’s match with the Tigers. Breeann David leads the Red Raiders with 75 kills, 56 digs and 35 blocks.
Montana enters play this weekend with a 1-5 mark on the season. Kortney James has 185 assists and 40 digs for the Griz. Furman will bring an 8-1 mark into the weekend’s action. Natalie Braun leads her squad with 116 kills and 120 digs so far this season.
Following this weekend’s action, the Tigers will travel to the 49er Invitational in North Carolina next weekend. Towson will face UNC Asheville, Kennesaw State and Charlotte as part of that two-day event.
