TOWSON, Md.Melissa Stansbury, who was named the 2012 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Assistant Coach of the Year, has been named an assistant coach for the Towson University volleyball team, it has been announced by Head Coach Don Metil.

“I'm excited that Melissa will be joining the staff,” said Metil. “She has local ties to the community and has been very successful recruiting local talent. She also shares in my philosophy and training methods while bringing a wealth of young, fresh knowledge.”

Metil added, “Melissa has a gift for analyzing the ‘in-game’ match tendencies of our opponent and this will allow us to make necessary adjustments. Having the 2012-13 AVCA national (DIII) assistant coach of the year on our staff will be a fantastic opportunity for everyone involved with the volleyball program.”
