TOWSON, Md. – Towson University volleyball coach Bruce Atkinson announced that incoming freshman Haley Pa’akaula has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Towson and will compete for the Tigers during the 2012 season.

A native of Honolulu, Hawaii, Pa’akaula is a 6-0 outside hitter/middle blocker who attends Kamehameha-Kapalama High School. A candidate for the Gatorade Volleyball Player of the Year in Hawaii, Pa’akaula also plays for the Jammers Volleyball Club.

“We are excited to have Haley join our team,” said Atkinson. “She is a physical player who has the ability to attack anywhere along the net. Haley has the potential to become an impact player for our program.”

Pa’akaula joins a Tiger team that went 23-9 last year and 10-4 in Colonial Athletic Association play. The CAA Coach of the Year in 2011, Atkinson returns 12 letter winners including CAA Player of the Year Katy Buck.
