BOWIE, Md. - This week's three-game series between the Bowie Baysox and the Portland Sea Dogs will be a Homecoming for former Tiger standout Nick Natoli.
A four-year starter at shortstop for Towson, Natoli plays for Boston's Eastern League affiliate, the Portland Sea Dogs. Portland visits Bowie for a three-game series at Prince George's Stadium on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights at 7:05 p.m.
A three-time All-Colonial Athletic Association selection who was the CAA's Defensive Player of the Year in 2008 and 2011, Natoli started the season with Greenville of the South Atlantic League. Last month, he was promoted to Portland.
In 11 games with Portland, he is batting .212 with a .366 on-base percentage. He has two doubles and has scored three runs. He has been Portland's regular third baseman the last few weeks.
In his college career, Natoli played in 215 games and batted .307. He had 254 career hits, third on Towson's all-time list. He also ranked among Towson's all-time leaders in at bats, runs scored and doubles.
