TACOMA, Wash. - In his first three games playing for the Tacoma Rainiers, Casper Wells has gotten off to a terrific start.
Wells, who was optioned to Tacoma on Thursday when the Seattle Mariners activated catcher Miguel Olivo. He had played in 25 games for the Mariners and batted only 47 times. He was hitting .213 and had scored six runs with four doubles, one home run and six runs batted in.
In his first three games at Tacoma, he is hitting .364 with an .818 slugging percentage and a .429 on-base percentage. He has scored four runs with two doubles, a home run and four runs batted in for the Rainiers.
In his debut on Friday night, Casper went three-for-four and drove in three runs. He had two doubles and a home run while scoring three runs.
