SEATTLE, Wash. - Former Tiger All-American Casper Wells had two more hits, including a solo home run, leading the Seattle Mariners to a 7-4 victory over former Cy Young Award winner Tim Lincecum and the San Francisco Giants at Safeco Field on Saturday night.
A second team All-American at Towson in 2005, Casper was recalled from Tacoma on Wednesday and has batted .556 since his return.
On Saturday night, he went two-for-four and drove in a run. In the first inning, he gave Seattle a 1-0 lead when he blasted his second home run of the season.
In three games since rejoining the Mariners, Casper has had a pair of two-hit games. He has gone five-for-nine and raised his season batting average to .268.
