TOWSON, Md. – The Tigers are ranked No. 1 in CollegeSwimming.com’s initial Mid-Major Division I Dual Meet women’s swimming and diving rankings by CollegeSwimming.com.
Towson (5-0, 3-0 CAA) has won 12 straight dual meets and is currently undefeated this season with a 5-0 record. The team has won four consecutive Colonial Athletic Association Championships.
“It’s really exciting for the women,” Towson Coach Pat Mead said. “Hopefully it can give them some confidence so that we can remain competitive. We have to continue to fight and stay at the top.”
Senior Cari Czarnecki and sophomore Kaitlin Burke are among the leaders on the team. Both have been awarded with CAA Women’s Swimmer of the Week honors this season while helping Towson to its 5-0 record.
Senior divers Caroline Baker and Jeanne Ball have also performed well this season, qualifying for the NCAA Zone Regional in the one and three-meter dives.
Towson’s 240.33 points lead the poll with San Jose State, James Madison, Harvard and Miami (OH) rounding out the top five.
